I teach philosophy at Pacific University, just outside of Portland, Oregon. My primary research area lies at the intersections of Wittgenstein, Cognitive Science, and human memory. I have also presented and published work in philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, and philosophy of education, and I sometimes dabble in aesthetics, philosophy of mathematics and logic, or ancient philosophy. I direct an undergraduate philosophy conference at Pacific every April, and I sometimes lead travel courses to Greece.
